Biography

Ruben Wyttenbach graduated in 2002 from F+F Art Scool in Zürich and from Maz Luzern (Photography Course of Studies) in 2007. Meanwhile he started to work as a independent photographer specialised in editorial photography and pursuing his personal projects. In 2017 he published his first monograph ‘Strand am Berg’. In the same year, he started a ‘Master of Contemporary Art Practice’ at University of the Arts in Bern (CH). The main subjects of his work are human-made landscapes or topologies, whose features reflect either a phenomenological, a technical or a social approach to current issues and problems. The new and unexpected and the pursuit of a collective idea or necessity play a central role in this respect. Exploring these spaces, he is searching for objects and things that merge into scenarios and thus become references, metaphors and traces.
He is based in Bern, Switzerland.
