Biography

Michael Blaser lives and works in Berne, Switzerland. He studied in Vevey and Zurich and works to this day as a art photographer and video artist. Since 2014 he is a member of the art commission of the canton of Berne. Michael Blaser grew up in the suburbia of Berne, which is perhaps why he has taken an interest in its idiosyncrasies. A strange melancholy pervades his work. The observant viewer senses a narrative moment behind the seemingly formal and banal presentation, a subtle bitter-sweet poetry of everyday life.
